The ICP sensor reads the pressure from the engine's high pressure oil system. The Ford Power race, Navistar Internatonal and the Caterpillar engine use this type of sensors. The engine ECM uses this information to order the correct signal to the fuel injectors that will measure the delivery of fuel to the engine. The sensor works with a 5 volt reference signal. The sensor sends a 1-5 volt signal that determines the oil pressure.
