These injectors feature new Bosch nozzles with an approximate 30% increase in flow, for a 50 to ¬60 horsepower increase over stock. These injectors are fully remanufactured to OEM specifications. They must then pass a five-point output test.  These injectors are Flow calibrated to be within +/¬ 2% of each other in a full set, as a maximum tolerance called a Matched SET

As with any component that increases power output through introducing more fuel, there is a potential for increased exhaust gas temperatures. We recommend that you monitor your EGT to assure you have a fuel and air balance with your performance upgrade. This will insure that your engine is performing in a manner that will last over time. **

 

*As standard equipment, the 5.9 Cummins uses a VCO valve nozzle. The acronym decoded means, valve covers orifice. In laymen’s terms, the nozzle pintel seat, also contains the discharge orifices in the combustion end of the nozzle. In contrast, the SAC nozzle, has its discharge holes in a SAC, or sack below the sealing surface of the nozzle pintle. This type of nozzle does provide more consistent flow at higher pressures, and they can last longer. Another attribute, is they can be made larger than a VCO type nozzle. The tradeoff is some uncontrolled discharge of fuel emitting from the Sac, once the pintal closes, since a small volume of fuel will be left in the reservoir created by the Sac volume. 

 

**With a CP3 pump that can generate pressure quickly and maintain it, exhaust gas temperatures can be further reduced, as atomization is increased, for more complete combustion. Systems that are slow to build pressure, or will not maintain desired pressure, should be fully tested to find the defective components. Temperatures more than 1350 degrees for more than 10 seconds, should be avoided
