The terms, conditions, and details of our warranty vary from product to product. Specific warranty details can be found below.

Tamerx Diesel Products provides a replacement warranty on all of our parts. The duration and mileage limitations of the warranty vary by product and are specified on the product's detail page/item listing.

Please note that the warranty covers replacement of the part and the cost of shipping the replacement part to you only. It does not cover any shop, labor, towing, or any similar or related costs. This is not a "money back guarantee".

If you experience a problem with your part or it is not functioning properly, the correct warranty procedure is to call us at (510) 257-1777 (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM ET Monday through Friday). As is the case for the majority of the diesel products sold on Tamerx Diesel Products, your part's warranty is active as soon as you install it. In some other cases, warranty activation is contingent upon you sending us your core (i.e., your old part). Tamerx Diesel Products will provide you a return shipping label for parts that have a warranty with a core return condition. When we have received your core return, the part's warranty coverage begins. We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.

What is a Core Charge?

A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.

30 Day Core Charge Hold

You authorize Tamerx Diesel Products, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.

The EGR Cooler (Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler) plays a crucial role in the Ford Powerstroke 6.0L engines from 2005 to 2010. This component helps reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions by cooling and recirculating exhaust gases back into the engine’s intake. The specific model OEM 4C3Z9P456AJ is designed to fit seamlessly into these engines, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with emission standards.

Key Functions of the EGR Cooler:

  • Temperature Regulation
    • The EGR cooler lowers the temperature of the exhaust gases before they re-enter the engine. This process prevents the formation of NOx, which is harmful to the environment.
  • Improved Combustion Efficiency
    • By recirculating cooler exhaust gases, the combustion process is more efficient, resulting in better fuel economy and reduced engine wear.
  • Emission Control
    • The EGR cooler helps the vehicle meet stringent emission standards, making it an essential component for eco-friendly driving.

Benefits of the OEM 4C3Z9P456AJ EGR Cooler:

Experiencing issues with your diesel engine can be frustrating, especially when the problem stems from a faulty EGR cooler. Understanding the signs of a bad EGR cooler can help you diagnose and address the issue promptly, ensuring your engine runs smoothly and efficiently.

Symptoms of a Bad EGR Cooler

A failing EGR cooler can manifest in various ways. Here are some common symptoms to watch out for:

  • Engine Overheating
    • A malfunctioning EGR cooler can cause your engine to overheat. This happens because the cooler is unable to regulate the temperature of the exhaust gases properly.
  • Loss of Coolant
    • If you notice a significant drop in your coolant levels, it could be due to a leak in the EGR cooler. This leak can allow coolant to mix with the exhaust gases, leading to a variety of problems.
  • White Smoke from the Exhaust
    • One of the most noticeable signs is white smoke billowing from the exhaust. This indicates that coolant is entering the combustion chamber and being burned along with the fuel.
  • Check Engine Light
    • A faulty EGR cooler can trigger the check engine light on your dashboard. This warning light can signal a range of issues, including problems with the EGR system.

Detailed Indicators:

  • Coolant contamination
    • When coolant leaks into the exhaust, it can mix with the engine oil, causing a milky appearance.
  • Reduced Engine Performance
    • A failing EGR cooler can lead to a decrease in engine performance and fuel efficiency. Your vehicle might struggle to accelerate, or you may notice a drop in overall power.
  • Odd Noises
    • Listen for unusual sounds coming from the engine, particularly a hissing or bubbling noise, which could indicate a leak in the EGR cooler.

Addressing these issues promptly is crucial to maintaining the health and performance of your diesel engine. If you suspect your EGR cooler is failing, it's important to have it inspected and replaced by a professional.
