SHIPPING POLICY

Tamerx Diesel Products ships via UPS Ground. Next day air shipping can be arranged for a reasonable price of anywhere from $50.00 - $100.00 depending on the weight of the product and your location. We will do everything we can to make sure that you get the service you need. We understand how important it is to receive your order as quickly as possible.
In most cases Tamerx Diesel Products only needs one address, as long as your product is shipping to the same location as your billing information. In order to eliminate credit card fraud, your billing information must match the credit card you provide.

The terms, conditions, and details of our warranty vary from product to product. Specific warranty details can be found below.

Tamerx Diesel Products provides a replacement warranty on all of our parts. The duration and mileage limitations of the warranty vary by product and are specified on the product's detail page/item listing.

Please note that the warranty covers replacement of the part and the cost of shipping the replacement part to you only. It does not cover any shop, labor, towing, or any similar or related costs. This is not a "money back guarantee".

If you experience a problem with your part or it is not functioning properly, the correct warranty procedure is to call us at (510) 257-1777 (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM ET Monday through Friday). Be sure to have your order number and/or other relevant order information ready so we can easily locate your order and resolve your issue as quickly as possible. From that point, we will review with you any troubleshooting steps that may need to be taken and other areas or systems that can be checked to rule out external problems contributing to your part's issue. If a replacement is determined to be necessary, we will then arrange for your replacement part to ship out ASAP and issue any necessary return shipping labels and/or documents.

As is the case for the majority of the diesel products sold on Tamerx Diesel Products, your part's warranty is active as soon as you install it. In some other cases, warranty activation is contingent upon you sending us your core (i.e., your old part). Tamerx Diesel Products will provide you a return shipping label for parts that have a warranty with a core return condition. When we have received your core return, the part's warranty coverage begins. We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.

What is a Core Charge?

A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.

30 Day Core Charge Hold

You authorize Tamerx Diesel Products, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.

"This Product Doesn't Have a Core"

Designed to keep the DEF tank securely sealed, the OEM ASP-DCL-0101 DEF Cap helps protect the system by preventing contaminants, dust, and moisture from entering the reservoir. This cap maintains a clean fluid environment, supporting proper operation of the DEF pump and dosing components. Its OEM-grade construction ensures accurate fitment, dependable closure, and durability under repeated handling and exposure to harsh conditions. When signs such as wear, loose threading, or residue around the tank opening emerge, this cap serves as a reliable replacement option. Built with sturdy materials and precise engineering, it helps uphold consistent DEF system integrity across all compatible applications.

The DEF Cap (OEM ASP-DCL-0101) is designed to protect the Diesel Exhaust Fluid tank from contamination while allowing the DEF system to function properly. Although it might appear to be a simple cap, it uses several built-in features to keep DEF clean, maintain proper tank conditions, and support overall emissions system reliability.

What the Cap Is Designed to Do

At its core, the DEF cap forms a tight seal over the DEF tank opening. This prevents dirt, dust, moisture, and foreign particles from entering the reservoir. Because DEF is highly sensitive to contamination, the cap’s sealing system is essential for protecting the entire DEF system—including pumps, injectors, filters, and sensors.

Some versions of this cap also incorporate venting features that help regulate pressure changes inside the tank as fluid levels rise or fall.

How the Cap Works Step-by-Step

  • Seals the tank opening using a molded gasket or O-ring
  • Blocks contaminants from entering during operation or refilling
  • Maintains proper tank pressure, allowing DEF to flow smoothly to the pump
  • Prevents spills and splashing, especially on rough equipment or vehicles
  • Protects fluid quality, ensuring consistent DEF purity for the SCR system

If the DEF cap doesn’t seal correctly, contaminants can enter the tank and harm components downstream. Blockages, crystallization, or pump damage can occur, leading to warning lights, system faults, or reduced engine operation. The OEM ASP-DCL-0101 cap helps prevent these issues by safeguarding DEF quality and maintaining proper system conditions.

DEF cap may look like a simple piece of your emissions system, but it plays an important role in keeping Diesel Exhaust Fluid clean and protected. When the cap is cracked, loose, or not sealing correctly, contaminants can enter the tank and cause issues that may lead to unexpected warnings or system faults.

While you can technically drive with a faulty DEF cap for a short distance, it is not recommended. Even brief exposure to moisture, dust, or debris can degrade DEF quality and affect critical components inside the system.

Risks of driving with a faulty DEF cap include:

  • DEF contamination that affects sensors or the pump
  • Crystallized residue forming around the tank opening
  • Frequent DEF warnings caused by fluid degradation
  • Restricted DEF flow if buildup enters the supply system
  • Possible derate if contamination causes system errors

A faulty cap may also allow vapors to escape, leading to residue buildup that can create sealing issues over time.

To avoid costly repairs, replace the DEF cap as soon as it shows signs of wear or poor sealing. It’s an inexpensive component that protects the entire DEF system.

Yes, incorrect caps may not seal or vent properly, leading to tank pressure issues and contamination.

Exposure to chemicals, extreme temperatures, or physical damage can degrade the cap and gasket.

It keeps the tank sealed so the level sensor can operate without interference from outside air intrusion.

They verify the OEM number and ensure the cap’s thread pattern and size match the tank’s fill-neck specifications.
