SHIPPING POLICY

Tamerx Diesel Products ships via UPS Ground. Next day air shipping can be arranged for a reasonable price of anywhere from $50.00 - $100.00 depending on the weight of the product and your location. We will do everything we can to make sure that you get the service you need. We understand how important it is to receive your order as quickly as possible.
In most cases Tamerx Diesel Products only needs one address, as long as your product is shipping to the same location as your billing information. In order to eliminate credit card fraud, your billing information must match the credit card you provide.

The terms, conditions, and details of our warranty vary from product to product. Specific warranty details can be found below.

Tamerx Diesel Products provides a replacement warranty on all of our parts. The duration and mileage limitations of the warranty vary by product and are specified on the product's detail page/item listing.

Please note that the warranty covers replacement of the part and the cost of shipping the replacement part to you only. It does not cover any shop, labor, towing, or any similar or related costs. This is not a "money back guarantee".

If you experience a problem with your part or it is not functioning properly, the correct warranty procedure is to call us at (510) 257-1777 (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM ET Monday through Friday). Be sure to have your order number and/or other relevant order information ready so we can easily locate your order and resolve your issue as quickly as possible. From that point, we will review with you any troubleshooting steps that may need to be taken and other areas or systems that can be checked to rule out external problems contributing to your part's issue. If a replacement is determined to be necessary, we will then arrange for your replacement part to ship out ASAP and issue any necessary return shipping labels and/or documents.

As is the case for the majority of the diesel products sold on Tamerx Diesel Products, your part's warranty is active as soon as you install it. In some other cases, warranty activation is contingent upon you sending us your core (i.e., your old part). Tamerx Diesel Products will provide you a return shipping label for parts that have a warranty with a core return condition. When we have received your core return, the part's warranty coverage begins. We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.

What is a Core Charge?

A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.

30 Day Core Charge Hold

You authorize Tamerx Diesel Products, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.

A reliable sensor is the silent cornerstone behind smooth engine operation, and the Caterpillar C11, C13, C15 Sensor GP (OEM 2016616) plays exactly that role. Designed for use in Caterpillar C11, C13, and C15 engines, this general-purpose sensor ensures the engine management system receives accurate data for timing, pressure, or other parameters — which translates into stable performance, efficient operation, and long-term engine health.

This sensor supports essential engine monitoring and control — here’s why it matters:

  • Accurate Parameter Feedback – Monitors critical engine values (such as position, pressure, or speed depending on configuration) and sends precise data to the control module for optimal engine management.

  • Maintains Proper Engine Timing and Control – With reliable input, the engine can regulate fuel injection, combustion timing, and other vital processes, preventing misfires, rough idling, or inconsistent power delivery.

  • OEM-Standard Fit and Build – As OEM 2016616, the sensor matches original manufacturer specifications, ensuring correct fitment and durable performance under heavy-duty conditions.

  • Enhances Engine Stability and Longevity – Proper sensor feedback helps reduce wear and tear, minimize engine stress, and maintain consistent performance even under demanding workloads.

  • Improves Maintenance and Diagnostics Reliability – A correctly functioning sensor reduces the likelihood of false error codes or misleading diagnostic signals, making maintenance simpler and more accurate.

Replacing a deteriorating or faulty sensor can make a noticeable difference in engine behavior and reliability. The Caterpillar C11 / C13 / C15 Sensor GP (OEM 2016616) delivers dependable, OEM-grade monitoring — essential for precise control, consistent power, and long-term engine health. For customers who demand engine stability and dependable performance, Tamerx offers this sensor as a trusted replacement to keep heavy-duty engines running smoothly and efficiently.

A Sensor GP (General Purpose Sensor) is designed to monitor various operating conditions—such as speed, pressure, temperature, or position—and send accurate data to the engine control module (ECM). Because these sensors support critical engine and system functions, understanding their expected lifespan helps with planning maintenance and avoiding unexpected failures. Under normal use, most Sensor GP units are built to be durable, but several factors can influence how long they last.

Average Lifespan and Factors That Affect Sensor GP Durability

  • Typical Lifespan Range
Most Sensor GP units last between 80,000 and 120,000 miles, depending on environmental exposure, sensor type, and system demand.

  • Quality of the Sensor
Higher-quality or OEM sensors generally last longer than low-cost aftermarket options.

  • Environmental Conditions
Sensors exposed to heat, moisture, vibration, or chemical contaminants may wear out sooner.

  • Electrical Stability
Clean, corrosion-free connectors and stable voltage help sensors maintain accuracy and longevity.

  • Maintenance Practices
Regular inspections and prompt repairs of wiring or connector issues can significantly extend the sensor’s lifespan.

  • System Load and Frequency of Use
Sensors that operate more frequently or under heavy system loads may experience faster wear.

Under normal operating conditions, a Sensor GP can last many tens of thousands of miles—and sometimes far longer with proper care. Regular inspections, clean electrical connections, and high-quality replacement components all help ensure the sensor performs reliably throughout its service life. Being proactive with maintenance can prevent sudden failures and keep your engine and systems running smoothly.

Yes — a faulty or dirty sensor may trigger warning lights or codes, even if actual engine parameters are within normal limits.

No — covering or disconnecting the sensor will likely cause the control system to receive no data, leading to warnings, derate, or shutdown depending on what parameter it monitors.

Yes — if water or cleaning chemicals enter the sensor or its connector, it may corrode internal components or cause electrical faults over time.

Both — high engine heat cycles and continuous vibration can degrade the sensor’s internal electronics or seals, so both are significant long-term stressors.
