As is the case for the majority of the diesel products sold on Tamerx Diesel Products, your part's warranty is active as soon as you install it. In some other cases, warranty activation is contingent upon you sending us your core (i.e., your old part). Tamerx Diesel Products will provide you a return shipping label for parts that have a warranty with a core return condition. When we have received your core return, the part's warranty coverage begins. We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.
What is a Core Charge?
A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.
30 Day Core Charge Hold
You authorize Tamerx Diesel Products, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.
"This Product Doesn't Have a Core"

The DEF doser injector on Volvo D13 and Mack MP8 engines plays an essential role in the emissions system by spraying Diesel Exhaust Fluid into the aftertreatment system. Keeping this injector clean and functioning properly helps prevent derates, fault codes, and costly downtime.
Why Maintenance Matters
Over time, crystallized DEF, soot buildup, or restricted flow can prevent the injector from delivering the correct amount of fluid. Regular maintenance ensures accurate dosing, protects the SCR system, and keeps the engine running efficiently and within emissions standards.
Key Maintenance Steps
- Inspect for Crystallization
- DEF can crystalize around the tip of the injector. Check for white or chalky buildup and clean it gently with approved DEF-safe cleaning solutions.
- Check for Clogged Passages
- Restricted injector passages can lead to improper dosing. If buildup is visible, clean the injector tip and surrounding area carefully.
- Examine Electrical Connections
- Ensure the harness connection is clean, tight, and free from corrosion. A weak electrical signal can cause injector misfires or incorrect dosing rates.
- Monitor DEF Quality
- Using contaminated or expired DEF can damage the injector. Always use fresh DEF from a sealed container and avoid introducing debris into the tank.
- Perform Regular System Regeneration
- A properly functioning aftertreatment system helps keep the doser injector from accumulating excessive soot. Follow manufacturer-recommended regen practices.
- Replace When Necessary
- If the injector becomes severely clogged, leaks, or fails electrically, replacement with OEM 22744063 or 22744065 ensures proper fitment and system reliability.
Consistent maintenance of the DEF doser injector helps prevent costly repairs, keeps your emissions system healthy, and supports smooth, dependable operation of Volvo D13 and Mack MP8 engines. A little preventive care goes a long way in avoiding derates, downtime, and unnecessary stress on the aftertreatment system.
A DEF doser injector is responsible for spraying Diesel Exhaust Fluid into the exhaust stream, allowing the SCR system to reduce emissions correctly. When the injector begins to fail, you may notice warning lights, reduced efficiency, or fault codes related to the emissions system. Diagnosing the problem early helps prevent further issues.
Common signs of a faulty DEF doser injector include:
- DEF crystallization around the injector tip
- Frequent DEF system warnings on the dash
- Inconsistent dosing rates recorded in diagnostics
- Higher DEF consumption without explanation
Steps to diagnose a failing DEF doser injector:
- Scan for fault codes using diagnostic software. Look for codes related to DEF dosing, pressure, or flow rate.
- Inspect the injector externally for crystallized DEF buildup, corrosion, or physical damage.
- Check supply lines to ensure proper fluid flow and no blockages.
- Run an injector test using a diagnostic tool to measure dosing output.
- Verify exhaust temperatures, as incorrect temperatures can cause dosing errors that mimic injector failure.
If the injector shows inconsistent spray patterns, restricted flow, or fails diagnostic tests, replacement is usually required to restore proper DEF delivery and maintain emissions compliance.
It delivers a precise spray of DEF into the exhaust stream to support proper SCR operation.
You may notice poor dosing efficiency, SCR-related fault codes, or unexpected derates.
It ensures the correct amount of DEF is atomized so NOx reduction occurs effectively in the SCR catalyst.
Yes, buildup can block the nozzle and limit DEF flow.
