SHIPPING POLICY

Tamerx Diesel Products ships via UPS Ground. Next day air shipping can be arranged for a reasonable price of anywhere from $50.00 - $100.00 depending on the weight of the product and your location. We will do everything we can to make sure that you get the service you need. We understand how important it is to receive your order as quickly as possible.
In most cases Tamerx Diesel Products only needs one address, as long as your product is shipping to the same location as your billing information. In order to eliminate credit card fraud, your billing information must match the credit card you provide.

The terms, conditions, and details of our warranty vary from product to product. Specific warranty details can be found below.

Tamerx Diesel Products provides a replacement warranty on all of our parts. The duration and mileage limitations of the warranty vary by product and are specified on the product's detail page/item listing.

Please note that the warranty covers replacement of the part and the cost of shipping the replacement part to you only. It does not cover any shop, labor, towing, or any similar or related costs. This is not a "money back guarantee".

If you experience a problem with your part or it is not functioning properly, the correct warranty procedure is to call us at (510) 257-1777 (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM ET Monday through Friday). Be sure to have your order number and/or other relevant order information ready so we can easily locate your order and resolve your issue as quickly as possible. From that point, we will review with you any troubleshooting steps that may need to be taken and other areas or systems that can be checked to rule out external problems contributing to your part's issue. If a replacement is determined to be necessary, we will then arrange for your replacement part to ship out ASAP and issue any necessary return shipping labels and/or documents.

As is the case for the majority of the diesel products sold on Tamerx Diesel Products, your part's warranty is active as soon as you install it. In some other cases, warranty activation is contingent upon you sending us your core (i.e., your old part). Tamerx Diesel Products will provide you a return shipping label for parts that have a warranty with a core return condition. When we have received your core return, the part's warranty coverage begins. We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.

What is a Core Charge?

A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.

30 Day Core Charge Hold

You authorize Tamerx Diesel Products, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.

"This Product Doesn't Have a Core"

Created to provide dependable pressure monitoring within heavy-duty diesel engines, the OEM 2746718 Sensor GP-PR fits Caterpillar C13 and C15 applications. This sensor delivers essential pressure data to the engine control system, helping maintain balanced operation under varying load and temperature conditions. Its OEM-grade construction ensures accurate fitment, stable signal output, and durability against heat, vibration, and prolonged use. When signs such as fluctuating readings, warning indicators, or pressure-related diagnostic alerts appear, this component offers a reliable replacement option. Built with quality materials and precise engineering, it supports consistent performance across all compatible Caterpillar C13 and C15 engines.

The Caterpillar Sensor GP-PR (OEM 2746718) is a pressure sensor used in C13 and C15 engines to monitor system pressure and provide accurate data to the engine control module. While durable, it operates in harsh environments—heat, vibration, oil exposure—and proper care can significantly extend its service life.

Key Steps to Improve Sensor Longevity

  • Keep Electrical Connections Clean
    • Inspect the connector periodically for corrosion, loose pins, or moisture. A clean, tight connection ensures reliable signal transmission and prevents false readings.
  • Protect the Sensor From Contaminants
    • Oil leaks, dust, and fuel residue can interfere with the sensor’s operation. Address nearby leaks early and clean the area around the sensor during routine maintenance.
  • Maintain Proper Engine Pressure Levels
    • Excessive pressure spikes—whether fuel, oil, or boost—can stress the sensor’s internal diaphragm. Staying ahead on system maintenance helps prevent abnormal pressure events.
  • Avoid Over-tightening During Installation
    • Improper installation can crack the sensor housing or distort the sealing surface. Always tighten to Caterpillar specifications using the correct tools.
  • Replace Seals and O-Rings When Needed
    • Worn or hardened seals can allow contaminants into the sensor or create inaccurate pressure readings. Fresh seals help maintain a clean, secure environment.
  • Monitor for Early Warning Signs
    • Erratic pressure readings, intermittent fault codes, or unexplained performance changes often indicate a sensor beginning to fail. Early replacement prevents cascading issues.

Why These Steps Matter

The Sensor GP-PR provides vital information that protects the engine, fuels accurate control strategies, and keeps your C13 or C15 running reliably. Proper care reduces strain on the sensor, improves accuracy, and helps avoid unexpected downtime.

Sensor GP-PR is designed to monitor system pressure and deliver accurate data to your engine or equipment control module. When it starts to fail, the system may receive incorrect readings, leading to warning lights, reduced efficiency, or unstable operation. Addressing the issue promptly can help prevent further complications.

If you suspect Sensor GP-PR failure, your first step is to confirm the issue through diagnostics. Pressure-related fault codes or fluctuating readings often point directly to the sensor.

Steps to take when your Sensor GP-PR is failing:

  • Schedule a diagnostic scan to verify inaccurate or missing pressure data
  • Inspect wiring and connectors for corrosion, bent pins, or loose terminals
  • Check for fluid contamination or buildup around the sensor port
  • Confirm that related components (filters, pumps, valves) are functioning correctly
  • Replace the sensor if data remains inconsistent or fails testing

Driving or operating equipment with a failing pressure sensor can lead to further system strain, misfires, or incorrect pressure adjustments. Replacing the GP-PR sensor early helps ensure stable readings and protects surrounding components from unnecessary wear.

Prompt attention to these symptoms helps maintain long-term engine reliability.

It supplies real-time pressure feedback that the ECM uses to adjust fueling and activate protection strategies.

Yes, sludge or debris can obstruct the sensing port and distort pressure values.

It should be checked when pressure readings become erratic or when related fault codes are active.

Correct torque ensures a secure seal and prevents leaks that could alter system pressure.
