As is the case for the majority of the diesel products sold on Tamerx Diesel Products, your part's warranty is active as soon as you install it. In some other cases, warranty activation is contingent upon you sending us your core (i.e., your old part). Tamerx Diesel Products will provide you a return shipping label for parts that have a warranty with a core return condition. When we have received your core return, the part's warranty coverage begins. We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.
What is a Core Charge?
A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.
30 Day Core Charge Hold
You authorize Tamerx Diesel Products, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.

The Chevrolet GMC Vortec 4.3L Spider Injector Assembly (OEM FJ503) is a central component of the fuel delivery system, designed to distribute fuel efficiently to each cylinder. Found in 1996–2005 engines, this assembly uses a unique central injection design that differs from traditional multi-port systems.
Instead of individual injectors at each cylinder, the spider injector assembly features a central unit with multiple fuel lines (or “legs”) that deliver fuel directly to each intake port. This setup helps ensure consistent fuel distribution across the engine.
Here are the primary functions of this assembly:
- Distributes fuel to each cylinder
- The central injector sends fuel through individual lines to each intake port, ensuring all cylinders receive the correct amount for combustion.
- Atomizes fuel for efficient combustion
- The system helps break fuel into a fine mist, allowing it to mix properly with air for a cleaner and more controlled burn.
- Supports smooth engine operation
- By delivering fuel evenly, the assembly helps reduce misfires, rough idling, and hesitation during acceleration.
- Works with the engine control module (ECM)
- The injector assembly responds to signals from the ECM, adjusting fuel delivery based on engine load, temperature, and driving conditions.
- Helps manage fuel efficiency and emissions
- Proper fuel metering contributes to more complete combustion, reducing unburned fuel and limiting harmful exhaust output.
In summary, the OEM FJ503 spider injector assembly acts as the engine’s fuel distribution hub, ensuring each cylinder receives the right amount of fuel at the right time for consistent and reliable operation.
A failing spider injector assembly can still allow your vehicle to run, but continuing to drive without addressing the issue can lead to more serious engine problems. What starts as a minor fuel delivery issue can quickly escalate if ignored.
The spider injector assembly is responsible for distributing fuel evenly to each cylinder. When it begins to fail, that balance is disrupted, affecting how the engine operates.
Here’s what can happen if you keep driving:
- Uneven fuel distribution
Faulty injectors can cause some cylinders to receive too much or too little fuel, leading to rough idling and inconsistent engine operation. - Misfires and hesitation
You may notice hesitation during acceleration or random misfires, especially under load or at higher speeds. - Increased fuel consumption
The engine may use more fuel as it tries to compensate for inefficient combustion caused by improper fuel delivery. - Potential damage to engine components
Long-term issues can affect spark plugs, valves, or even the catalytic converter due to unburned fuel. - Stronger fuel odor or leaks
Leaking components within the assembly can create noticeable fuel smells and increase safety risks.
Driving short distances may be manageable, but it’s not recommended to delay repairs. Addressing the issue early helps prevent further damage and keeps your engine running reliably.
It features a central injector body connected to six individual poppet-style or upgraded nozzles via nylon fuel lines, each delivering fuel directly to a cylinder intake port.
Unlike standard multi-port systems with one injector per cylinder, the FJ503 uses a single central injector with distribution lines, which changes how fuel is delivered and serviced.
The assembly is mounted beneath the upper intake manifold, sitting centrally in the intake plenum with lines extending to each cylinder.
Typical issues include leaking fuel lines, sticking poppet valves, and internal regulator failure, all of which can disrupt proper fuel delivery.
