We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.
What is a Core Charge?
A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.
30 Day Core Charge Hold
You authorize Tamerx Diesel Products, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.
The customer, or parts buyer, is responsible for any shipping costs associated with core returns unless otherwise specified in the product listing/detail page. Tamerx Diesel Products offers prepaid UPS shipping labels (SKU numbers UPS-CR1 and UPS-CR2) for use in returning your core that are available for purchase on our website during your shopping/order process.
The shipping label you will need to use for the core return is dependent upon what part you are purchasing. UPS-CR1 is good for cores weighing up to 20 pounds. UPS-CR2 is appropriate for shipping cores weighing 21 pounds or more. You must include enough information with the core return that clearly identifies it as a.) a Core Return, and b.) contains enough information we can use to clearly associate the core return with your order. Including a copy of the invoice or packing slip that came with the original shipment, clearly marked "Core Return", is ideal. Alternately, you can include a note marked as "Core Return" that includes your order number, full name and address, and phone number or other contact information. Failure to include this information with your returned core will most likely delay any due core credit being issued and/or delay any applicable warranty activation. Core returns need to be for the exact part purchased and cannot be damaged. Substituting another part in place of the part you have purchased is not acceptable.
All fluids must be drained.
If you have purchased a set or a parts package, you will need to return cores for all components of the set. For example, if you have purchaed a high pressure oil pump with an IPR valve, you will need to return both HPOP and IPR valve cores to receive proper credit. If you have purchased an EGR cooler/EGR valve package, your core return must consist of an EGR cooler core and an EGR valve core, or core credit will not be given.
Core Charges are often mandated by state legislature, and, as such, the actual core charge and taxes on the charge may vary depending on the state in which you buy your part. The Tamerx Diesel Products core charge presented to you online today with your item is representative of the most common core charge.

The Cummins QSB 6.7L, 3.8L NOx Sensor 2015-2022: OEM 4326867 is important because it helps monitor nitrogen oxide (NOx) levels in the exhaust system of compatible Cummins diesel engines. As part of the emissions-control system, the sensor provides information to the electronic control system to help monitor exhaust conditions and support effective emissions treatment.
Without accurate NOx sensor readings, the engine's control system may have difficulty evaluating exhaust emissions and the operation of the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system, potentially resulting in emissions-related faults or operating restrictions.
Why Is the NOx Sensor Important?
- Monitors nitrogen oxide emissions The sensor measures NOx concentrations in the exhaust stream and provides information to the electronic control system.
- Supports SCR system operation Accurate NOx readings help the control system monitor the conditions required for effective nitrogen oxide reduction.
- Helps manage DEF dosing Depending on the sensor's location and system configuration, NOx readings can help the control system determine or adjust Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) dosing requirements.
- Evaluates emissions treatment effectiveness NOx measurements help the control system assess how effectively the aftertreatment system is reducing harmful emissions.
- Supports emissions system diagnostics The sensor helps identify abnormal NOx levels and conditions that may indicate problems with the SCR catalyst, DEF dosing system, or related components.
- Works with the engine control module It communicates exhaust emissions information that allows the electronic control system to monitor and manage emissions-related functions.
- Helps prevent emissions-related operating restrictions Reliable sensor readings help reduce the likelihood of faults caused by inaccurate NOx monitoring or incorrect emissions-control responses.
- Helps maintain emissions compliance Accurate NOx monitoring supports the emissions-control requirements established for compatible Cummins QSB 6.7L and 3.8L applications.
Essential for Accurate Emissions Monitoring
The Cummins QSB 6.7L, 3.8L NOx Sensor (OEM 4326867) plays an important role in monitoring exhaust emissions and supporting proper SCR system operation. If the sensor becomes damaged, contaminated, disconnected, or unable to provide accurate readings, it may contribute to abnormal NOx measurements, emissions warning lights, SCR-related fault codes, or engine operating restrictions.
Inspecting electrical connections, maintaining the DEF and aftertreatment systems, and addressing NOx sensor faults promptly can help maintain accurate emissions monitoring and reliable engine operation.
A vehicle may still operate with a failing NOx Sensor, but continuing to drive for an extended period is generally not recommended. The NOx Sensor monitors nitrogen oxide emissions and provides important information to the engine control system. When it fails, the aftertreatment system may not regulate emissions correctly, potentially leading to warning lights, operating restrictions, and additional SCR system problems.
Here are several risks of driving with a bad NOx Sensor:
- Check engine or emissions warning light A faulty NOx Sensor can trigger dashboard warnings when the engine control system detects incorrect or missing sensor readings.
- Engine derate Persistent NOx Sensor faults may cause the engine control system to limit vehicle speed or engine output until the issue is corrected.
- Inaccurate NOx monitoring A defective sensor may provide incorrect readings, preventing the system from accurately monitoring nitrogen oxide emissions.
- Improper DEF dosing Depending on the engine's control strategy, incorrect NOx readings may interfere with DEF dosing calculations and SCR system operation.
- Recurring diagnostic trouble codes Fault codes related to NOx Sensor communication, signal accuracy, or SCR efficiency may continue appearing until the problem is resolved.
- Increased exhaust emissions Incorrect sensor information can interfere with emissions control and potentially allow higher NOx levels in the exhaust.
- Additional SCR system concerns Unresolved sensor problems can complicate the diagnosis and operation of related aftertreatment components.
- Failed emissions testing A malfunctioning NOx Sensor may prevent the vehicle from meeting applicable emissions requirements.
- Unexpected vehicle downtime A worsening sensor fault may eventually trigger more restrictive operating conditions or require immediate repairs.
If the vehicle operates normally without critical warnings, a short trip to a repair facility may be possible, depending on the manufacturer's recommendations. However, severe derate, unusual engine behavior, or critical emissions warnings should be addressed promptly.
Before replacing the NOx Sensor, have the sensor wiring, electrical connectors, exhaust system, DEF dosing components, and related SCR controls inspected. Identifying the actual cause can help prevent unnecessary replacement and recurring emissions problems.
Cleaning is generally not a reliable repair for internal NOx sensor faults, and replacement may be necessary when approved diagnostic procedures confirm sensor failure.
Inspecting the wiring harness helps identify damaged insulation, broken conductors, loose terminals, or communication faults that could be mistaken for a defective NOx sensor.
The sensor mounting location, exhaust connection, electrical connector, wiring routing, and applicable installation specifications should be checked before installation.
OEM 4326867 should be verified using the engine serial number, equipment model, production year, emissions configuration, sensor position, and original NOx sensor part number before installation.
