SHIPPING POLICY

Tamerx Diesel Products ships via UPS Ground. Next day air shipping can be arranged for a reasonable price of anywhere from $50.00 - $100.00 depending on the weight of the product and your location. We will do everything we can to make sure that you get the service you need. We understand how important it is to receive your order as quickly as possible.
In most cases Tamerx Diesel Products only needs one address, as long as your product is shipping to the same location as your billing information. In order to eliminate credit card fraud, your billing information must match the credit card you provide.

The terms, conditions, and details of our warranty vary from product to product. Specific warranty details can be found below.

Tamerx provides a replacement warranty on all of our parts. The duration and mileage limitations of the warranty vary by product and are specified on the product's detail page/item listing.

Please note that the warranty covers replacement of the part and the cost of shipping the replacement part to you only. It does not cover any shop, labor, towing, or any similar or related costs. This is not a "money back guarantee".

If you experience a problem with your part or it is not functioning properly, the correct warranty procedure is to call us at (510) 257-1777 (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM ET Monday through Friday). Be sure to have your order number and/or other relevant order information ready so we can easily locate your order and resolve your issue as quickly as possible. From that point, we will review with you any troubleshooting steps that may need to be taken and other areas or systems that can be checked to rule out external problems contributing to your part's issue. If a replacement is determined to be necessary, we will then arrange for your replacement part to ship out ASAP and issue any necessary return shipping labels and/or documents.

As is the case for the majority of the diesel products sold on Tamerx, your part's warranty is active as soon as you install it. In some other cases, warranty activation is contingent upon you sending us your core (i.e., your old part). Tamerx will provide you a return shipping label for parts that have a warranty with a core return condition. When we have received your core return, the part's warranty coverage begins. We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.

What is a Core Charge?

A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.

30 Day Core Charge Hold

You authorize Tamerx Diesel Products, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.

An exhaust temperature reading that stays fixed or changes unexpectedly can complicate aftertreatment diagnosis. The Cummins X15 Temp Sensor 2025–2028, OEM 5654173, measures exhaust heat and sends temperature information to the engine control system, helping it evaluate exhaust-treatment conditions.

  • Temperature-related fault codes: A check engine light accompanied by a temperature-sensor code calls for inspection of the sensor and its electrical circuit.

  • Readings that stop changing: Exhaust temperature normally responds to operating conditions. A frozen reading may indicate a sensing or wiring problem.

  • Sudden, implausible spikes: Abrupt changes without a corresponding change in engine operation can point to an intermittent signal fault.

  • Unexpected cold-start differences: After the exhaust has cooled completely, comparing temperature readings can help identify a sensor reporting an unreasonable value.

  • Damaged wiring or connectors: Heat exposure, corrosion, and loose connections can interrupt the signal even when the sensing element remains functional.

  • Confirmed replacement compatibility: Match OEM 5654173, connector type, sensor location, and engine serial number before choosing a replacement.

For customers buying from TamerX Diesel Parts, checking both the sensor readings and electrical connections helps determine whether the Cummins X15 Temp Sensor is the correct repair for a temperature-monitoring fault.

The lifespan of a Temp Sensor depends on its location, operating temperatures, environmental conditions, and overall engine maintenance. In diesel engines and aftertreatment systems, temperature sensors are intended for long-term operation and may last several years or hundreds of thousands of miles, although actual service life varies by application and manufacturer.

  • Operating temperature exposure: Sensors exposed to consistently high exhaust temperatures may experience faster deterioration of internal sensing elements and protective materials.

  • Frequent thermal cycling: Repeated heating and cooling can gradually weaken sensor components, affecting their reliability and measurement accuracy.

  • Electrical connection condition: Clean, secure wiring connections help prevent signal interruptions and premature sensor-related problems.

  • Engine operating conditions: Frequent idling, heavy workloads, and demanding driving environments can influence sensor exposure to heat, vibration, and exhaust contaminants.

  • Soot and contamination: Excessive soot, oil residue, or other deposits can affect certain temperature sensors and potentially shorten their service life.

  • Physical wear and vibration: Continuous engine vibration, damaged mounting points, or improper installation can weaken sensor housings and electrical connections.

  • Routine inspection and maintenance: Checking wiring, connectors, sensor mounting, and diagnostic trouble codes during scheduled maintenance can help identify deterioration before complete failure occurs.

A Temp Sensor does not have a universal replacement interval, and most should be replaced based on confirmed malfunction or manufacturer recommendations rather than mileage alone. Monitoring temperature readings, inspecting electrical connections, and addressing related engine or aftertreatment problems can help extend sensor service life and maintain reliable temperature monitoring.

Technicians can monitor live temperature data while inspecting electrical connections and wiring for intermittent problems. Comparing sensor behavior under different operating conditions can help identify irregular signals.

Yes. The engine control system uses exhaust temperature information to evaluate certain aftertreatment operating conditions. Incorrect temperature data can contribute to misleading diagnostic results or emissions-related fault codes.

Premature failure may result from excessive heat exposure, electrical damage, vibration, corrosion, or improper installation. Identifying the underlying cause helps reduce the likelihood of repeated sensor problems.

Temperature readings provide information about how exhaust heat changes during engine operation and aftertreatment activity. Technicians can compare these readings with expected values to investigate overheating, abnormal temperature patterns, or sensor faults.
