SHIPPING POLICY

Tamerx Diesel Products ships via UPS Ground. Next day air shipping can be arranged for a reasonable price of anywhere from $50.00 - $100.00 depending on the weight of the product and your location. We will do everything we can to make sure that you get the service you need. We understand how important it is to receive your order as quickly as possible.
In most cases Tamerx Diesel Products only needs one address, as long as your product is shipping to the same location as your billing information. In order to eliminate credit card fraud, your billing information must match the credit card you provide.

The terms, conditions, and details of our warranty vary from product to product. Specific warranty details can be found below.

Tamerx Diesel Products provides a replacement warranty on all of our parts. The duration and mileage limitations of the warranty vary by product and are specified on the product's detail page/item listing.

Please note that the warranty covers replacement of the part and the cost of shipping the replacement part to you only. It does not cover any shop, labor, towing, or any similar or related costs. This is not a "money back guarantee".

If you experience a problem with your part or it is not functioning properly, the correct warranty procedure is to call us at (510) 257-1777 (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM ET Monday through Friday). Be sure to have your order number and/or other relevant order information ready so we can easily locate your order and resolve your issue as quickly as possible. From that point, we will review with you any troubleshooting steps that may need to be taken and other areas or systems that can be checked to rule out external problems contributing to your part's issue. If a replacement is determined to be necessary, we will then arrange for your replacement part to ship out ASAP and issue any necessary return shipping labels and/or documents.

As is the case for the majority of the diesel products sold on Tamerx Diesel Products, your part's warranty is active as soon as you install it. In some other cases, warranty activation is contingent upon you sending us your core (i.e., your old part). Tamerx Diesel Products will provide you a return shipping label for parts that have a warranty with a core return condition. When we have received your core return, the part's warranty coverage begins. We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.

What is a Core Charge?

A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.

30 Day Core Charge Hold

You authorize Tamerx Diesel Products, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.

Your Caterpillar’s emissions control depends heavily on a precise DEF doser injector—and the OEM ZUAC-00958 is built to do exactly that for 2018-2024 models. It helps maintain your aftertreatment system’s effectiveness and ensures the SCR gets just the right amount of DEF fluid when it needs it. When this part isn’t working properly, emissions problems, warning lights, and reduced engine efficiency are often the result.

  • Injects DEF fluid accurately into the exhaust stream so the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) unit can convert NOx emissions properly—a crucial step for staying in compliance.

  • Helps avoid common malfunctions like error codes or SCR derate situations that happen when DEF dosing is off.

  • Keeps downstream parts healthier by preventing bad spray patterns or leaks that can damage sensors or catalyst surfaces.

  • Fits exactly to OEM specifications, assuring correct installation without guesswork and reducing the chance of fitment or sealing issues.

  • Provides reliability through Caterpillar-level quality assurance and warranty support, helping reduce maintenance costs and unexpected downtime.

Choosing the OEM ZUAC-00958 DEF doser injector means investing in the health of your emissions system, maintaining engine efficiency, and staying ahead of potential diagnostics headaches. For dependable, clean operation, this genuine part from Tamerx Diesel Parts delivers the precision and reliability your Caterpillar needs.

The DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) doser injector plays a critical role in reducing emissions by injecting urea into the exhaust stream for SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction). If the injector becomes clogged or faulty, it can lead to increased emissions and reduced system performance. Safe removal and reinstallation are essential to ensure the integrity of the aftertreatment system and avoid costly repairs.

Steps for Safe Removal and Reinstallation of a DEF Doser Injector

  • Preparation and Safety

    • Park the vehicle on a level surface and allow the exhaust system to cool down.

    • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical accidents.

    • Wear gloves and eye protection, as DEF is corrosive and can irritate skin.

  • Remove Electrical Connector and Fluid Line

    • Disconnect the electrical connector from the DEF injector carefully to avoid pin damage.

    • Detach the DEF line by releasing the quick-connect fitting. Be prepared for fluid drips—use a clean catch pan.

  • Unbolt and Remove the DEF Injector

    • Use the appropriate socket or wrench to remove the mounting bolts or studs holding the injector in place.

    • Gently wiggle and pull the injector free from the exhaust pipe. Avoid excessive force to prevent breaking the nozzle.

  • Inspect and Clean the Mounting Area

    • Inspect the mounting port for soot or DEF crystal buildup.

    • Clean the area with a soft brush or cloth, and ensure the sealing surface is smooth.

  • Install the New or Cleaned Injector

    • If reusing the injector, inspect the nozzle and O-ring for wear or crystallization. Clean gently if necessary.

    • Align the injector with the port and secure it with bolts to the manufacturer’s torque specification.

  • Reconnect Electrical and DEF Lines

    • Reconnect the electrical plug until it clicks into place.

    • Reattach the DEF supply line securely.

  • Final Checks

    • Reconnect the battery and start the engine.

    • Use a diagnostic tool to clear any fault codes and verify injector operation.

Handling the DEF doser injector with care during removal and reinstallation is essential to avoid damaging the system or triggering DTCs. Following a clean, methodical approach ensures reliable SCR function and extends component lifespan. If you’re unsure at any point, consult a service manual or professional technician to avoid costly mistakes.

Cold temperatures, moisture exposure, and use of DEF with impurities speed up wear and clogging.

White crust or residue around the tip, leaks, or corrosion on the injector body.

Codes related to SCR dose faults, NOₓ efficiency drop, or DEF injection errors may indicate this component is faulty.

Ensure the exhaust and aftertreatment components are cooled and depressurized to avoid burn or fluid spray hazards
