SHIPPING POLICY

Tamerx Diesel Products ships via UPS Ground. Next day air shipping can be arranged for a reasonable price of anywhere from $50.00 - $100.00 depending on the weight of the product and your location. We will do everything we can to make sure that you get the service you need. We understand how important it is to receive your order as quickly as possible.
In most cases Tamerx Diesel Products only needs one address, as long as your product is shipping to the same location as your billing information. In order to eliminate credit card fraud, your billing information must match the credit card you provide.

The terms, conditions, and details of our warranty vary from product to product. Specific warranty details can be found below.

Tamerx Diesel Products provides a replacement warranty on all of our parts. The duration and mileage limitations of the warranty vary by product and are specified on the product's detail page/item listing.

Please note that the warranty covers replacement of the part and the cost of shipping the replacement part to you only. It does not cover any shop, labor, towing, or any similar or related costs. This is not a "money back guarantee".

If you experience a problem with your part or it is not functioning properly, the correct warranty procedure is to call us at (510) 257-1777 (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM ET Monday through Friday). Be sure to have your order number and/or other relevant order information ready so we can easily locate your order and resolve your issue as quickly as possible. From that point, we will review with you any troubleshooting steps that may need to be taken and other areas or systems that can be checked to rule out external problems contributing to your part's issue. If a replacement is determined to be necessary, we will then arrange for your replacement part to ship out ASAP and issue any necessary return shipping labels and/or documents.

As is the case for the majority of the diesel products sold on Tamerx Diesel Products, your part's warranty is active as soon as you install it. In some other cases, warranty activation is contingent upon you sending us your core (i.e., your old part). Tamerx Diesel Products will provide you a return shipping label for parts that have a warranty with a core return condition. When we have received your core return, the part's warranty coverage begins. We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.

What is a Core Charge?

A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.

30 Day Core Charge Hold

You authorize Tamerx Diesel Products, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.

The Cummins ISL Decomposition Reactor Tube (OEM 5418128) is a critical emissions component designed for 2018–2022 ISL engines. As part of the Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system, it helps properly mix and decompose diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) within the exhaust stream, enabling efficient reduction of harmful NOx emissions into cleaner gases. Built to OEM specifications, this reactor tube ensures precise fitment, reliable durability, and optimal aftertreatment performance—helping maintain emissions compliance, prevent system faults, and keep your engine running efficiently.

The decomposition reactor tube is an important connection point within the diesel aftertreatment system, linking key components that manage exhaust emissions. In Cummins ISL engines, this tube plays a critical role in preparing Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) for the SCR process. By promoting proper mixing and chemical conversion, it helps ensure that exhaust gases are treated effectively before leaving the system.

  • Converts DEF into Ammonia for SCR Function
Inside the reactor tube, DEF is broken down into ammonia through a heating and hydrolysis process, which is necessary for reducing nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions in the SCR system.
  • Promotes Thorough Mixing of DEF and Exhaust Gases
The internal design of the tube helps atomize and evenly distribute DEF within the exhaust stream, allowing for consistent chemical reactions downstream.
  • Connects DPF and SCR Components
Positioned between the diesel particulate filter (DPF) and the SCR catalyst, the decomposition reactor tube acts as a transition stage where DEF is introduced and prepared.
  • Supports Overall Emissions System Efficiency
By ensuring proper DEF conversion and flow, the reactor tube helps improve the effectiveness of the entire aftertreatment system and reduces the load on downstream components.
  • Built for Cummins ISL Engines (2018–2022)
Manufactured to OEM 5418128 specifications, this tube is designed to integrate with the factory aftertreatment setup, supporting proper fitment and reliable operation.

The decomposition reactor tube is a vital part of the emissions control process in Cummins ISL engines. With proper DEF preparation and mixing, it helps maintain efficient SCR performance, supports balanced exhaust treatment, and contributes to consistent emissions control during daily operation.

The decomposition reactor tube is a critical part of the SCR system, responsible for converting Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) into ammonia before it reaches the catalyst. Because it operates in a high-temperature environment and handles chemical reactions, proper maintenance is essential to prevent buildup and ensure long-term performance.

  • Always use clean, manufacturer-approved DEF to prevent impurities from entering the system and causing internal deposits.
  • Store DEF properly in sealed containers to avoid contamination from dirt, moisture, or debris.
  • Inspect the DEF injector regularly for signs of crystallization or uneven spray patterns that could lead to buildup in the reactor tube.
  • Address engine issues such as improper combustion, oil consumption, or coolant leaks to prevent contamination in the exhaust stream.
  • Avoid excessive idling or frequent short trips that may prevent the exhaust system from reaching temperatures needed for proper DEF decomposition.
  • Monitor and respond to warning lights or fault codes early to prevent minor issues from developing into heavy deposits.
  • Ensure the entire aftertreatment system, including the DPF and SCR, is functioning properly to maintain balanced exhaust conditions.

Consistent maintenance and proper DEF handling are key to extending the life of a decomposition reactor tube. By keeping the system clean and addressing issues promptly, you can help ensure efficient SCR operation and avoid costly repairs.

Yes, the Cummins ISL Decomposition Reactor Tube 2018–2022: OEM 5418128 can become clogged with DEF crystallization or soot buildup, affecting performance.

Failure can result from DEF contamination, low exhaust temperatures, or prolonged buildup of deposits inside the tube.

In some cases, the Cummins ISL Decomposition Reactor Tube 2018–2022: OEM 5418128 can be cleaned if buildup is minor, but severe blockage usually requires replacement.

If the Cummins ISL Decomposition Reactor Tube 2018–2022: OEM 5418128 fails, it can lead to higher emissions, engine derate, and potential SCR system damage.
