SHIPPING POLICY

Tamerx Diesel Products ships via UPS Ground. Next day air shipping can be arranged for a reasonable price of anywhere from $50.00 - $100.00 depending on the weight of the product and your location. We will do everything we can to make sure that you get the service you need. We understand how important it is to receive your order as quickly as possible.
In most cases Tamerx Diesel Products only needs one address, as long as your product is shipping to the same location as your billing information. In order to eliminate credit card fraud, your billing information must match the credit card you provide.

The terms, conditions, and details of our warranty vary from product to product. Specific warranty details can be found below.

Tamerx Diesel Products provides a replacement warranty on all of our parts. The duration and mileage limitations of the warranty vary by product and are specified on the product's detail page/item listing.

Please note that the warranty covers replacement of the part and the cost of shipping the replacement part to you only. It does not cover any shop, labor, towing, or any similar or related costs. This is not a "money back guarantee".

If you experience a problem with your part or it is not functioning properly, the correct warranty procedure is to call us at (510) 257-1777 (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM ET Monday through Friday). Be sure to have your order number and/or other relevant order information ready so we can easily locate your order and resolve your issue as quickly as possible. From that point, we will review with you any troubleshooting steps that may need to be taken and other areas or systems that can be checked to rule out external problems contributing to your part's issue. If a replacement is determined to be necessary, we will then arrange for your replacement part to ship out ASAP and issue any necessary return shipping labels and/or documents.

As is the case for the majority of the diesel products sold on Tamerx Diesel Products, your part's warranty is active as soon as you install it. In some other cases, warranty activation is contingent upon you sending us your core (i.e., your old part). Tamerx Diesel Products will provide you a return shipping label for parts that have a warranty with a core return condition. When we have received your core return, the part's warranty coverage begins. We reserve the right to void the product warranty if your core is not received within the allotted time, or if it isn't received at all. If the warranty for the diesel part you are purchasing has a core return requirement, it will be clearly noted on the product detail page/item listing.

What is a Core Charge?

A core charge (also called "core deposit") is similar to the deposit you might pay for a can or bottle of soda and is a standard requirement in the auto parts industry. For example, in many states, to promote recycling, you pay a deposit when you purchase a can of soda and receive your deposit back when you return the empty can. Many automotive parts have a core charge, or core price, that works in essentially the same way as a soda can deposit.

30 Day Core Charge Hold

You authorize Tamerx Diesel Products, to hold your credit card for the specified core charge amount and that you agree to return your core with 30 days of receiving the purchased part. When we have received your core return, the hold is released and the core charge payment is canceled.

A modern diesel engine depends on accurate temperature readings to manage combustion, emissions, and overall performance — and the Cummins ISX15, QSB, ISB 6.7L Temperature Sensor (OEM 2872468) is built to provide exactly that. For engines from 2014 to 2018, this sensor ensures the engine control system receives precise temperature data so it can optimize fuel delivery, timing, cooling, and emissions control. Choosing the right OEM sensor is critical to maintaining engine safety, efficiency, and longevity.

This temperature sensor plays a crucial role in maintaining engine performance — here’s why it matters:

  • Accurate Temperature Monitoring – Measures engine or coolant temperature and sends exact readings to the control unit for proper adjustments.

  • Protects Engine Components from Overheating – By reliably tracking temperature, the sensor helps prevent overheating and reduces risk of heat-related damage to internal parts.

  • Supports Efficient Engine Operation – Correct temperature data helps optimize combustion and emissions control, especially under varied load and ambient conditions.

  • OEM-Grade Fit and Reliability – As OEM 2872468, this sensor meets original manufacturer specifications, ensuring proper fit, dependable performance, and longevity under engine stress.

  • Reduces Sensor-Related Faults and Misdiagnosis – A functioning temperature sensor minimizes false warnings or error codes, making diagnostics more straightforward and preventing unnecessary downtime.

Replacing an aging or faulty temperature sensor is key to ensuring your diesel engine runs reliably and safely. The Cummins ISX15 / QSB / ISB 6.7L Temperature Sensor (OEM 2872468) delivers precise monitoring to keep engine temperature in check, protect internal components, and support efficient performance. For operators seeking a trustworthy OEM-spec replacement, Tamerx offers quality parts designed to sustain long-term engine health and consistent performance.

The Sensor Temperature plays a vital role in monitoring engine temperature and sending accurate data to the engine control module (ECM). This information helps regulate cooling, fuel delivery, and other critical engine functions. When the Sensor Temperature begins to fail, the ECM may receive incorrect readings—and that can lead to overheating, reduced performance, or even serious engine damage.

How a Bad Sensor Temperature Can Affect the Engine

  • Incorrect Coolant Temperature Readings
If the sensor sends false low readings, the cooling fans may not activate, causing the engine to overheat.

  • Improper Fuel Mixture
Faulty data can cause the ECM to adjust the air-fuel mixture incorrectly, leading to rough idling, increased fuel consumption, or power loss.

  • Delayed Engine Warm-Up
Incorrect readings can prevent the ECM from transitioning from warm-up mode, keeping the engine running inefficiently.

  • Cooling System Malfunctions
The thermostat, radiator fan, or coolant flow controls may respond improperly if they receive inaccurate temperature signals.

  • Potential Engine Damage
Prolonged overheating can warp cylinder heads, damage gaskets, and reduce the overall lifespan of the engine.

  • Warning Lights or Fault Codes
A failing Sensor Temperature may trigger overheating alerts or temperature-related fault codes.

Yes— a bad Sensor Temperature can cause overheating and even severe engine damage if left unaddressed. Accurate temperature readings are essential for proper engine operation and cooling. If you notice temperature fluctuations, overheating, or warning lights, have the sensor inspected and replaced promptly. Preventive maintenance ensures your engine stays protected, efficient, and reliable.

Because accurate temperature data is critical for engine management, coolant regulation, preventing overheating, and ensuring emissions and performance safety.

The engine control system may receive incorrect or no temperature data — which can lead to overheating, improper fuel or emissions control, poor performance, or warning/error codes.

Signs include erratic temperature gauge readings, overheating events, unexpected engine shutdowns, warning lights, or sudden huge swings in temperature display.

Replacement is usually manageable, requiring access to the sensor port, removal of the faulty unit, and installation of the new sensor — doable for someone with basic mechanical knowledge.
